Happy New Year!

Dear all

I hope you all have had a Merry Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year. It's such a beautiful time of year is Christmas, lots of love and thanksgiving, presents, good food but it is such a shame that we cannot always meet up with oved one's, it's quite heartbreaking but I am sure, as this virus recedes that we will experience more normality as we head into 2021, with the promise of a vaccine. Let us hope we can get back to normal, save the high street shops and continue an economic rebound into better times.

It has been a few months since I wrote a blog, it felt good to have a rest from it and now hopefully, as we face uncertain times, we can all recover and we must try to keep our thoughts positive.

I'm sure we have had our fill of rich food, chocolate, alcohol and treats, it would be nice for Christmas to last all year! But not in the way we have experienced it this year, being cut off from family is not very nice and I am hoping for more normality as we head into 2021.

With regards to standards, it has been a quiet year; yes I have had business to do with regular customers and have also gained a new client, which is just great. Work has been completed online and off because of the restrictions and to be honest, online consulting has been proven to work although I much prefer visiting people, it just depends on the restrictions in force at the time.

Working online has its downsides, but without it I would not have been able to help clients and some are working from home so it is inevitable that online consultancy would make an appearance, perhaps working online from home will become more of the done thing in the future, it certainly helps carbon emissions and the usual rat race in the mornings and afternoons if travelling to work and back. It will also save lives, less car crashes can only be a good thing.

Working online has its benefits, and I was taken by surprise when I gained a new client through meeting online, I use Google Meets videoconferencing software, it has proven to be very good and above all it is free, all you have to do is have a Google account, it beats paying for Microsoft Teams or Zoom and appears to let you have a meeting all day instead of the usual restrictions of say 40 or 60 minutes as some platforms give you. I did not even realise Google did this until a client told me about it, have used it ever since.

Let us embrace technology to help us, let us embrace our freedoms when they return and let us get moving into helping our economy bounce back into better and more certain times.

Best regards
